An outstanding form in the Winterthur furniture collection is a 17th-century oak cupboard from Cambridge, Massachusetts. The design elements include applied, turned split spindles; applied bosses and moldings in geometric patterns; and spool-turned balusters, with some areas painted black to emulate exotic ebony. Hickory Chair Company’s artists were inspired by the contrasting lines in each furniture form in the design of these spot tables. The resulting furniture forms are certain to become an important part of today’s living environments that emphasize unparalleled quality and beauty. Kohl finish on base with Truffle finish on the top shown.
