By 1951 du Pont had transformed his home into the Winterthur Museum. At the same time, he began to build a world-class library, one that today contains more than 500,000 resources relating to the decorative arts. Carefully preserved in the collection of rare books is a furniture pattern book from a series published by R. Ackermann in 1823. The volume includes 44 colored engravings of Fashionable Furniture. Hickory Chair Company’s artists have adapted a 19th-century image from Ackermann’s series to create this dresser. The result is a piece of furniture that will become an important part of today’s living environments that emphasize unparalleled quality and beauty. Six regular drawers and two “Hidden” push-latch top drawers with felt-lined compartments standard. Ebony Bronze hardware standard. Also available with Customer’s Own Hardware®.Six regular drawers and two “Hidden” push-latch top drawers with felt lined compartments standard.
